it's like OJ all over again.

seriously, i've been teeming all day.

if you've been living under a rock for the past three years, even the past few weeks of the trial, or have chosen to keep yourself unaware of current events... or if you are one of those people who refuses to watch the news because you consider it to be unnecessary depression forced upon this world, get a grip. it is okay to be angry at society. and today is a very good reason to be angry.

casey anthony is a free woman, and her beautiful baby will never be validated.

it makes me absolutely sick to my stomach.
the verdict is out: casey anthony, not guilty.
the signs were all there, most of the evidence too.
if proof is what they needed, they should have looked harder.
i assure you, there was enough evidence to prove such a crime.
and now she will be free, sitting pretty on time served, party hopping night to night, and not feeling one pang of guilt.

it should make you sick too.

because i'm a mormon who stands up for what i believe,

i am not embarrassed, nor do i cower before my beliefs.
i plan on marrying for love, and raising eight children to be testifying, and unafraid.
our family will own an obnoxious SUV, occasionally be loud during church, and spend monday nights learning of our savior.
we will pay taxes, celebrate the fourth of july with hot dogs and root beer, support our troops, and vote for government officials.
we'll be late for birthday parties, and catch each other's colds, but we love each other, so our constant happiness is none of your business... unless you would like to join us. and in that case, please do!
we'll fight over barbies and legos, sing primary songs when we're scared, but we're law abiding citizens, and i don't understand the attack on our kind.
we applaud people who write articles like this; we like people who stand up for us.
...we'd deliver casserole to them if we could.

and of all these things, we are known by most as the bud of every joke.
and we can handle that.
because above all, we are christians, and we were taught to turn the other cheek.

and that is precisely what we'll do.

no words. but the opposite of that.

hi.

i'm a republican. did you know that? because i am.
a red-blooded, george bush supporting, glenn beck advocating, right wing enthusiast.
i respect sarah palin, bill o'reilly, and will vote for mitt in 2012.
but guess what. i'm also a member of a pretty great church. which is rarely represented on fox news.
last night it was.
and i was overjoyed.
i watched this last night. and it simply brought me to tears.

i have the most respect for the nielson family. and on air last night, they told america how they really felt. all of america. topics were touched on air that never have been before, i'm sure. good people, those nielsons. i went to bed feeling like a weight was lifted from the world maybe. that there had to be someone watching that needed to hear that god is in everything. god provides hope when circumstances appear to be hopeless. when a prayer seems neglected, try again, or listen harder. this broadcast reminded me to be better--to quit whining. it was wonderful to watch this, and know that we all root for the same team. we want to share our knowledge of the plan of salvation, the atonement, and even things that may seem insignificant like a prayer. they do get answered, something you will understand if you only try.

i couldn't find the entire broadcast, but if you're interested, you can go here and read it all. do it. it is wonderful. :)

this place smells like germs. which is gross.

one miracle of a flight later, i have touched down in the land of the free. which feels almost surreal, considering the fact that i thought i was never going to get out of dublin. two flights a day to the states... whaaaatta joke. but that's not the point. the point is that mary ann in business elite took double care of me, {meaning my cup of diet coke mixed with the non virgin kind was never neglected. relax, people. i'm talking about stiff coke here.} and the man who sat beside me for our special journey fondly resembled my dentist, which removed some of the awkward severity when he hovered over me to get to the aisle. good man.

so. here i sit. at jfk. again.

back to the place where horizon lines are full of skyscrapers and department store tycoons.
plus, my 3G no longer rejects me.

it's a good one, this country.

pictures of dreamland and londontown to come soon. i have to get outttta new york first. which could be a problem.

musings of a middle class young lady. i owe it all to you mr. pres.

dear mr. president,
oh barrack. how you never cease to amaze me. why is it, sir, that you feel the need to continually make everything about yourself? when speaking on the fiscal plan, only you can find a way to speak of the election that you so "victoriously" won. i've got news for ya, buddy. you didn't win because you were the right man for the job. ;) i know what i say next will be hard for you to understand, but please. just try with all of your might to do so. please stop blaming others for playing politics when you yourself know that game very well. dear mr. o, it's not your party, so no. you don't have the right to cry if you want to. save that for those middle class little girls that are obviously in need of your help so much. oh wait... that's me... and i'm not crying, so why are you? dear mr. president... please stop talking. very few of us like the sound of your voice as much as you do. and plus, the rest of us get way too much of you these days. the view called. they want their celeb back.

love, a very concerned citizen.
{and lowly middle class young woman. ohhh and p.s. i'm going to college. so i'm not THAT lowly. just in case you wanted some hard facts.}
